When war is waged there are reasons given but those are distraction only.
I see the headlines; turn the page
Terrorists killed innocents
Fuel for the rage
Media spins the story
Lessons remain unlearned
Nero’s play their fiddles
Watching empires burn

Padres pray with waving hands
To cast blessings upon soldiers
Trusting young march to foreign lands
Many won’t grow older

Aren’t we terrorists to the foe?
We climb so high
Yet sink so low
Sacrifices are soon forgotten
For forbidden fruit is sugar sweet
And human flesh is far too weak
This Holy war,
At it’s core,
Has a soul both foul and rotten
. G. Gabriel
