A short story poem about a real encounter with a praying mantis I had.

One morning as I was at the parking lot at work,
And as I kept walking toward the building,
I saw him, the male Chinese praying mantis.

This made my heart and morning light up!
I was so overly happy and filled with joy!
I knelt down to him sitting there in the parking lot.

As I stared down at him,
And he stared up at me intelligently and lovingly,
We exchanged nothing but pure love and admiration.

I went to pick him up so he wouldn't sit there and be hurt by a car,
I wasn't wanting him to pinch me with his arms but I didn't care if he did,
So instead, he just flew away into a tree and this made my heart happy, even though I knew I'd really miss him.
