A beautiful scene captured and kept but not disturbed.
A green giant by a stream
With leaf filled limbs hanging down
A natural curtain to hide her
As she sat upon the ground
Reading…or so it would appear,
I watched her from a distance
Wanting but fearing to draw too near
Lest my bold intrusion should
Make her disappear

There was something magical
A stilling of the air
I thought to say hello but then
I felt I shouldn’t dare
There really was no space for me
No place with her that I could see
So I enshrined her as a favoured memory
To view when I dream
The girl by the stream
Beneath the willow tree
