The great leveller. We all age regardless of our successes or failures. Rich or Poor.
I woke up to no one else
An older version of myself
A little tired and lots of grey
Can’t recall when I got this way
Sunny day turned darkest night
Passed me at the speed of light
I gazed at the mirror and truth be told,
Wondered when I’d grown so old

Time is invincible; Time the endless foe
It’s fleeting and invisible, gone before you know
Days to weeks, months to years,
‘til everything you know; all you hold so dear
Disappears …just,
disappears

Life is just a pinch of sand
Through the fingers of mortal man
He stands and stares at empty hands
His wasted time on empty plans
All the moves he prearranged
Are scattered by the winds of change
The old man looks upon his fate
He knows for him it’s far too late

Time comes and goes; slowly steals your breath
The day will dawn for everyone
When you have to face your death
Running on that stupid wheel
Struggling to go nowhere
Had all the time in the world
But then suddenly you’re there

Time is irreversible, time the only truth
I cherish all the good times that I had in my youth
Time is not the enemy; a wisdom learned with age
My story was a good one but it’s time to turn the page
Days to weeks, months to years,
Everything I know; all I hold so dear
Disappears...just,
disappears.
