Contrast complement and compliment
Complement Vs Compliment

I complement my husband since my skills and his are different. What I struggle with, he excels at. What chores he hates, I prefer and the ones I hate, he would rather do.

My husband compliments me when I solve technical issues for him. I compliment him when he finds items I misplace and when he fixes things that break. When he unplugged the toilet, I hugged him, exclaiming, “You’re my hero!”

Complementing someone can lead to receiving a compliment from him or her.
