Prompt - write about a place where someone is trapped
The rising sun caressed the wishing well giving it a rosy glow as she softly strolled through the field but she didn't notice. Wildflowers bowed to her in the slight breeze but she didn't see them. Dew made the grass sparkle as if it was adorned with diamonds but it was lost to her. She was imprisoned in her own mind. Dark thoughts swirled blotting out awareness of the physical world.

The terrain slowly changed from meadow to barren scrubland. Her feet crunched rock but her ears did not hear nor her eyes see the new darkness approaching. Her mind was focused on plans to make her ex pay for all the pain he had caused her when suddenly she felt herself falling. The fall felt like it lasted forever but when she finally hit bottom something soft was beneath her.

No light filtered down to show what broke her fall but she was grateful it had. It prevented any injuries though she was aware soreness would plague her for a few days. As she placed her hands on either side to stand, she realized the something soft was the remains of an animal. A fairly large animal with dense fur had saved her from injury. Her hands explored the shape but she could not identify the animal. Her hands left the pelt and explored other areas of the prison that now had her trapped. She began to panic when she realized no one knew where she was. Her scream reverberated in the old mine shaft as she realized her body would soon join the animal pelt that had briefly saved her life. All thoughts of vengeance on her ex were now erased . The former darkness that imprisoned her mind now surrounded her body for as long as she might remain alive.
