What does a poet hope for his works?
He bleeds upon the page
the sins of yesterday
the hopes of tomorrow
cold sadness; heated rage
burning love, cool peace
laughter, joy, sorrow

poet is a liar
who only tells the truth
births his poem, raises it
from infancy to youth
then let's it stand alone
another offer made
for the gods that read
to decide it's fate
eternalize,
or let fade.
