A column on the Antonio Brown situation.
|For the past few years, the National Football League has been vilified about players getting concussions.
For years, the NFL has ignored the backlash.
Now, however, the league has seemed to have woken up by making their players to wear a certified helmet.
Unfortunately, Antonio Brown does not want to co-operate.
Brown wants to wear the same helmet he has worn throughout his career.
Brown has even threaten to retire if he can't wear his helmet.
Unless you've been living under the rock, this story has been all over sport's newscasts for weeks.
Brown did show up to practice yesterday wearing the certified helmet.
Brown, however, filed a second grievance today to continue wearing his old helmet.
This is crazy.
The NFL is trying to make the game safe for the players and this guy is protesting.
Do pro athletes think they're that superior that they'll risk their lives?
It seems that way.
I applaud the NFL for putting safety regulations in the game.
I don't know if the new helmets are going cut down concussions, but the league is doing something.
In the past, the league did nothing.
