a loving and longing for spring within the winter
August whispered
Winter words of wisdom
Blowing softly in my ear
"Nestle me close
For the frost is near,
Share the furs
Near the hearth
And stay within my heart
‘Til spring does reappear"
And I melted into him
Becoming one in flesh
And one is spirit.
I begged him to whisper
Once more his winter wisdom
Softly into my ear
