Friends influencing each other
I always wanted to be an actor. I wanted to be able to lie to people and to be able to know when I was being lied to. I never considered that there might not be a truth under it all to find and grab on to. That maybe life was way more ambiguous than it seems on a screen. That maybe when you are acting you are telling a truth that being honest can’t. Like telling white lies to people or avoiding conflict. All fake but ultimately good for you in the right dosage. Looking out for other people to the point of obscuring your own truth. That is what real life is. Compromising for other people to the point where your won story gets blended with everyone else’s. until you and your friends are telling each other the same stories. Reminding each other of the parts they forgot, noticing when they leave parts out for your sake and noticing when they embellish your favorite parts.
