Pity the dead who cannot rest.
Shadows in the dark
spirits waking from their graves
memories of better days
searching for the light they've never found

Orphans from the past
that hope to find some peace at last
arise from beds below the grass
wandering the earth without a sound

And I think I saw
ancients standing hand in hand
spirits drifting across the land
with eyes that watch the world
but can't forget
bound by their regrets
the broken souls with shattered dreams
their open mouths call soundless screams
these ghosts I feel I know but never met

Shadows in the dark
phantoms wander to their graves
memories of yesterdays
still searching for the light they've never found
