Just remembering the first time my sister saw the ocean
The wind had picked up since we left for the coast, or perhaps it is just the wind coming off the ocean. It tasted like salt. She had never seen the ocean before. I was thrilled to be there with her; to see the gleam in her eyes when she looked upon the vast expanse. She isn't one to open up to people, and I knew she wasn't going to tell me how she really felt. I already knew though because I had the same feelings the first time I saw the endless sea water. She felt small and mediocre, but calm. Like every mistake that she has ever made was miniscule. Sometimes it's comforting to feel so small. It's similar to when you're a child. Nothing soothes anxiety better than an encompassing hug from your mother, or from Mother Nature. Seeing the dolphins gave her a different feeling of awe and brought her wandering mind back from sailing on the seas.
