Written for PersonITfication Contest. Prompt: old broken cellphones or cases
Devoted gaze fixed on his face
Rapt in him, she’s in a daze
Touching his face, she’s mesmerized.
It used to be me

Each night, from him she never strays
She’ll touch his face, he’ll sing to her
Late at night she’ll play with him.
It used to be me.

Dropped in the toilet, crunched on the chair seat
My face bruised and broken, she no longer wants me
Careless and fickle, she treasures another
It used to be me

Defunct comrades around me
Lie carelessly tossed
All of us groaning,
“It used to be me”
