A short story based on a music prompt for a 48 hour contest.

“I said no Steve! I already told you that! I’m not ready to get engaged!” said Shirley enraged because Steve was refusing to accept her answer.

“But...Shirley...”. said Steve sadly and heartbroken.

Shirley left Steve crying holding the ring in his hand, slammed his front door and left his house. Before she left though, she secretly grabbed keys to the space rocket that Steve gets to ride on for NASA and thinks about leaving everything behind but her cell phone and charger. She gets in her car at midnight and drives to where the rocket’s at.

“Good bye Earth, good bye Steve! Good bye everything and everyone! Weeew whooo!” said Shirley merrily out loud to the world before leaving in the rocket.

While Shirley’s in the rocket for a short while and is now in space, she sets up some music on her cell phone to play while she records a good bye song to Steve. In her song she keeps apologizing and saying she’s sorry to Steve. She also wants to know more about who the e.t.’s are and mentions this in her song too.

Shirley eventually finishes her song and puts her song on YouTube. She never comes back down to Earth. Steve buys a rocket and goes up to see her and meets her on the moon. He proposes to her again, but he’s too late because she ended up marrying the man on the moon instead while she’s been gone.
