“What do you think of this?” Jane asked.
“Ah...” Susan started.
“Too much? It’s for the opening of Slasher Dasher Six.”
“I know, it’s a little more than what I usually do. I have a date, sort of...”
“Oh nice! With who?”
“Henry? That Henry from work!?”
“He asked you out?”
“I asked him, sort of...”
“What? You don’t even like him. You asked him?”
“Really, I asked a group. I was trying to ask Tim, who was standing in the doorway. It took me so long to get up my nerve, I just blurted it out not realizing he was talking to a bunch of people. They thought it was an open invitation.”
“Is Tim going?”
“To see the movie, no. He was busy. Matter of fact everyone in the group was busy, except Henry... I couldn’t get out of it at that point. So, he’s picking me up...”
“Hence the outfit?”
“Well, I’ve never seen anything like it. You’re trying to scare him off, right?”
“Absolutely, he’s weird.”
“Says the girl in the blood covered lab coat...”
The doorbell rang. Susan answered it in case it wasn’t someone who knew about the Slasher Dasher Movies. As she stood there gaping at the sight before her, it said. “Is Jane home?”
Jane peeked around Susan to find a bloody body with one eye falling out of its socket, green hair standing on its ends and covered with three times more blood than her. “Henry, is that you?” she laughed.
“Too much?” he asked, blushing a little.
“Not for me!” Jane laughed, walking out.
Watching them go, giggling, and talking all over each other, Jane thought, ‘I might need a new roommate.”
Six months later, she did.
