"They, (the two lines) were good," said Leafs head coach, Mike Babcock after the game.
The win snaps the Leaf's three game losing streak.
Jacob de le Rose opened the scoring for the Wings at 3:44 of the first period.
Nick Shore tied the game at 9:57.
With just 30 seconds to go in the second period, Ilya Mikheyev put the Leafs ahead 2-1.
Alexander Kerfoot put the Leafs up 3-1 at 9:11 of the third period.
24 seconds later, Darren Helm scored to closed the gap at 3-2.
Jake Muzzin put the Leafs up by two goals again at 13:34.
Trevor Moore sealed the deal with an empty net goal at 17:47.
There were just four penalties called in the game.

Toronto's Dmytro Timasov had two assists last night.
De le Rose had two points.
Detroit's Justin Abdelkader had two assists last night.
Red Wing's goalie, Jimmy Howard, stopped 40 shots.
