Fantasies can be wonderful but they aren't real
We had a beautiful fantasy
Romance and tender care were ours
A gentle touch and a warm embrace
With beating hearts and soft breath
I said hold me please
He said he would

Forevermore we would be
Swept up in our sweet fantasy
Riding horses on the wild mountainside
Spirits free and yet bound by love
I dared to believe it really could be

I asked for leniency and a chance
I only wanted time to clear my heart
To remove the chains he said he'd take away
But one word of reality from my mouth
And the beautiful fantasy crumbled to the ground

Gone is my shining knight, my hero
He was the one who would set me free
I wrongly thought I had complete acceptance
But an illusion was all I had after all
The beautiful fantasy was never meant to be
