BOO! Or should that be BLOG! Hope all are having scary fun this Halloween season and your blog writing and reading is spooky good.
This month we need something scary, so the Feature deals with the scariest thing that any writer can face. If you're timid about such things, just skip to this month's Editor's Picks or the Welcome section.
Remember to keep your pumpkins safe and your candy handy. You know what happens if the candy gets in the pumpkins after midnight - or do you?
Keep on Bloggin'!
Trick or Treat
by Wordsmitty ✍️
The blog stood lurking on the page, hungry for words. Tendrils of thoughts twisted through the mind searching for ideas that they could squeeze together into submission, but everything just oozed away into the crevices of the brain further clouding any sparks of a post.
Suddenly, sugar-infused blood began to drip into the cortex causing lightening to flash in the gloomy gray of the matter. A throbbing sounded like voodoo drums calling the zombie imagination to reach out. And reach it did, devouring memories as it chased the living down neural pathways.
A silent jolt in the comatose arm flopped the wrist towards the keyboard. Paralyzed fingers hovered over the keys afraid to type as if consonants were needles and vowels were poison. Shadowy hallucination danced behind the eyes trying to dissolve the screen before it reached coherency by the muse.
"NO!" echoed in screams that never became sound. It was the last gasp of the demon so many fear and fight so often. Finally, the evil writer's block was no more.
