A recap of last night's Washington/Toronto game.
|Although, I'm disappointed that the Toronto Maple Leafs lost 4-3 in overtime last night against the Washington Capitals, I don't feel it was a really horrible game.
It was, however, wasn't a good game for the Leafs either.
I'll say this. Both teams competed hard.
"It was a competitive game," said Leaf's head coach, Mike Babcock at the post game press conference.
40 seconds into the game, Andreas Johnson scored to put the Leafs up 1-0.
John Carlson tied the game at 10:47 of the first period.
Carlson scored again on the man advantage at 7:59 of the second period.
At 19:27, Auston Matthews scored his 10th goal of the season to tie the game.
1:46 into the third period, Matthews scored again.
Matthews finished the night with three points.
Washington's captain, Alex Ovechkin, tied the game at 4:10.
4:00 into overtime, Ovechkin scored the winner on the power play.
Ovechkin had four points last night.
Ovechkin's teammate, Nicklas Backstrom had three assists.
Toronto doesn't play until Saturday.
The Leafs head to Philadelphia to face the Flyers.
