A Rat Race

To the living,
death may hold fascination,
macabre and grim;
To the dead,
just another day.

24 Syllables
4-7-5-3-5
Note: Merriam-Webster accepts two main pronunciations of “macabre”, one with two syllables, the other with three. I take it as three.
