Watching your special needs' child hurting is hard.
A Child’s Hurt

He cries out in anger
as tears fall like drops of dew.
A hurt none can fathom holds him;
he bangs his head against the wall.

As frustration overtakes him,
he tires of simple word counts.
He’s slow to learn new things, but oh
what wings words would give him!

Though he sits silent as a stone,
he must know he’s no longer alone.
My lost and troubled son,
how to help him, I wish I knew.
