fighting the patriarchy is exhausting
i close my eyes
what do you expect me to see?
in the limelight
or thrown on the streets
i see none of these

when i close my eyes
everything around me blackens
then the street light comes on
i see a girl
waiting for her saviour, who never came

she walked ahead and ahead
no company or entertainment
as all were behind her
passing on gossips
about her failed life

for once she wished
she was a man
because living a woman
in this men dominant world
is exhausting

i open my eyes
her world is no different from mine
where the woman
is the goddess
and the prime devil
