This is about a woman that if I could do it all over again...
I've had to say I'm sorry
Far too many times
And when I think of the way I've made you feel
I must have lost my mind

But to be with you is a dream I've had
They're more surreal every night
And to leave that be, without a word
I'd rather lose my sight

Just to hear your voice around me
Is all I could ever ask
I know you're there, within my reach
But just outside my grasp

I'm learning to live with the dream of a love
That I might never touch
And it hurts every day to see you close
Sometimes your scent just isn't enough

I'll live this life that no one should
Until a day we might be free
And I'll stay in the shadows where whispers are heard
Where we can speak but can't be seen

Insurmountable are my hopes it seems
But no matter our place in time
I'll always wait for the love we'll have
When you can rest your hand in mine
