A recap of last night's Toronto/New York Islanders game.
|The Toronto Maple Leafs did play quite good last night against the New York Islanders, but it wasn't good enough as the team suffered their third straight loss, losing 5-4.
"In the third period we weren't as good as we need to be," said Leaf's head coach, Mike Babcock, after the game.
The Leafs performed good in the first period.
"I thought we had a outstanding start," said Babcock.
Unfortunately, the Islanders went ahead 2-0 with goals by Mathew Barzal and Anthony Beauvillier.
43 seconds into the second period, Kasperi Kapanen put the Leafs on the scoreboard.
William Nylander tied the game at 11:22.
Beauvillier scored again at 16:43.
Derick Brassard put the Isles. ahead 4-2 at 8:07 of the third period.
Casey Citizkas added an empty netter at 17:32.
Justin Holl and John Tavares scored for the Leafs near the end of the game.
Tavares had two points.
Brassard had a three point night.
Toronto hosts the Boston Bruins tomorrow night.
