Dream of a girl
I saw a little girl in my dream last night.
She asked me if I had a big house with a curved staircase that allowed me to feel like a princess when I walked down in my big long rope.
She asked me if I wake up bright and early every day to put on my nicest dress and explore the world alongside the birds.
She asked me if I stay up late in my grown-up home to watch movies while drinking milk out the carton and dancing until I see the sunrise.
She asked me if I laugh until juice comes out of my nose but it's okay because mom can't get mad at me because I am an adult.
She asked me if I was doing everything I had hoped and promised myself when I was younger.
But How could I tell a child I had stopped living...
How could I have told myself that?
