|The Toronto Maple Leafs finally ended their long six game losing skid last night and gave their new coach his first win in the National Hockey League.
"The guys went out and played with confidence," said Leaf's new head coach, Sheldon Keefe at the post game press conference.
The Leafs defeated the Arizona Coyotes 3-1.
Tyson Barrie, who has been struggling this season, scored his first goal as a Leaf at 19:14 of the first period.
Pierre Engvall scored his first NHL goal short-handedly at 16:49 of the second period.
48 seconds into the third period, Auston Matthews scored his 15th goal of the season.
Unfortunately, Leaf's goalie, Frederik Andersen didn't get the shut out as Arizona's Vinnie Hinostroza scored at 19:43.
Andersen stopped 30 shots.
Andersen's counter part, Darcy Kuemper, also stopped 30 shots last night.
Toronto's Ilya Mikheyev had two assists.
The Leafs are in Colorado tomorrow night to take on the Avalanche.
