Christmas is nostalgic, sort of joyful and sad all mixed together.
Christmas is lonely
like the rustle of a nest
that keeps out cold one night longer.

It is wistful
like the longing of strangers
who wander forty years from home.

It is faithful
like a shepherd who hears angels,
sees newborn Messiah,

spends a life waiting
for another sign, another word
to prove He has not forgotten.
