falling in love again
The night we met
the stars aligned as if each one
was a jigsaw piece, clicking into place

The night we met
our hands fell together
like they were meant to hold on forever

The night we met
you kissed me in the rain
Holding me so tight I had felt safe
for the first time in a long time

We still gaze up at the stars,
and I wonder how all of them came together
so perfectly for us
how I had gotten so lucky to find you
like a needle in a haystack

See because when I met you
the flowers inside me were slowly budding,
I was repairing the pieces of myself left broken by another
and you, you
watered the flowers of my heart
and I felt myself start to be happy again

The night we met
neither of us knew that it would be
a first to a forever
