“This is your last warning, if I see your light back on again after bedtime, I will take that game away.”

Two days later: “This is your last warning, if I see that flashlight on again, I will take that game away.”

Two more days later: “You are not allowed to light candles! This is your last warning, if you do that again, I will take that game away!”

The next night: “This is your last warning! Come out of that bathroom right this minute! If you lock yourself in the bathroom with that game again, I will take that game away!”

“Honey?” her husband, David, said quietly from behind her.

“Yes?” Alice answered, standing outside the upstairs bathroom door waiting for Ben to come out.

“Why don’t we just take the game away from him before we send him to bed?”

“Well, we don’t want him to think we don’t trust him...”

“But we don’t trust him...”

Seeing the look on her husband’s face, she added, “It’s a fine line.”

“Apparently, a finer line than I can see...” he mumbled quietly to himself, quickly retreating back down the stairs.
