Love, Butterflies, God

Deep down inside of me,
Where butterflies dwell,
Lives love seedlings;
One day, around the age of ten,
The butterflies began to flutter
Winging their way into my heart
From deep within.

A metamorphosis has taken place;
My appearance is altered.
Whenever the object of my affection
Glances my way a flush
To my cheeks gives way

My heart composes ballads
In rhyme for my secret crush;
Songs my love will never hear.
'en now I am content to entomb
The words deep within my heart.

Perhaps, one day, I will find
The courage to open the vault
Releasing the melodic music
I've buried deep inside of me
For so long and sing their
Sweet melody.

This fledgling bud has blossomed
Into adulthood transforming into
A beautiful butterfly.
I am no longer a child.
Laying aside my childish fears
I navigated my way through life
Day after day with the hand
Of God leading the way.

Today, I have released
The words of rhyme and the refrain
As I pay tribute to my God.
