Barriers

Impediments to reason and progress.

Today religion has it rough,
membership down, lack
of tithing, the weight of
faith dragged thru the mud
(I don’t believe that stuff.)
Pyramid power
a victim of reason;
maybe a headache
could use a pyramid
harnessing energy of
Cosmos (or cosmic ray),
or dealing tarot cards
while crystal balls stay
opaque.
Fortune tellers, faith roars
like feathered dinosaurs
scales a-droppin’ on
the avenue of astrology,
to sense the sting
of Scorpion,
for which the zodiac
relents to thin and
thirsty
men of old,
(divining rods in hand)
trudging on
about belief
as if it were useful,
as if it were evidence,
as if it were progress.
