The Leafs went ahead again with a goal by Mitch Marner at 14:06 of the second period.
Just 19 seconds into the third period, Johnny Gaudreau tied the game.
Michael Frolik put Calgary ahead 3-2 at 1:59.
Gaudreau scored his second goal of the game at 2:49.
Tavares and Marner had a two point night.
Calgary's Sean Monahan had two assists.
Flame's goalie, David Rittich, stopped 32 shots.
Leafs are in Edmonton tomorrow night to play the Oilers.
