A 20 line poem written for December's Taboo Words Contest.

The anticipation,
the feeling of thrill,
covers my shivers,
the definite chill.

Baby-steps first,
until balance I find,
then picking up speed
of the confident kind.

I'll attempt a turn,
then maybe a twist,
for I am determined
the chance won't be missed.

Feeling too brave,
I make a small jump;
and just like a toddler,
I fall with a bump.

It's hard to get up
with a semblance of grace,
the dream has now shattered
with my reddened face.
