Dear Reader --
I hope you're in a traveling mood and have prepared some trail-mix to take along the way...
...as we are, starting today, taking a journey on Route 2020...
That, of course, is the poetic way of saying that this is about the brand new year that is so many things at once.
January 1, 2020 fell on a Wednesday this year, meaning that it was a kind of midway point between two weekends and centered between two pairs of workweek days.
First came the last Saturday and Sunday in December 2019.
The bookend to this is the first Saturday and Sunday in January 2020.
Monday and Tuesday were the last two workweek days of 2019, and Thursday and Friday are the first two workweek days of 2020 to follow the Wednesday, January 1, 2020 centerpiece.
The "Ongoing. . ." year begins and ends in Winter, and it begins at a time when the days are gradually getting longer and ends a few days after the shortest day of the year and when, once more, the days are getting longer again.
This is a year when we not only enter a different month and year but, also, is a time when we enter a different decade.
I left 2019 and entered 2020 when I was in my late sixties (turned 67 on December 12, 2019). The next time the decade changes again, I'll be in my late 70s (77, to be exact). This assuming that I'll still be on this side of Eternity having birthdays.
I'll be writing a bit more later on today but need to start signing off at a little before 11:30 AM as I'm going to a "Happy New Year!" lunch at NOON and another get-together that begins at 4 PM and ends at 7 PM for a very special neighbor who will be leaving for an extended family home in Missouri.
Here are a couple of blog-entries that should be finished more sooner than later...that is, if not today, at least before another week has passed...
"Double-Talk (And So-On And So-Forth)"
AJ wants U 2 meet The CanMan!
P.S. This is my introduction to this Sheet. Enjoy the graphics of a passing year and find whatever else I decide to include during this year below them...
