A recap of last night's New Jersey/Toronto game.
The Toronto Maple Leafs made up for Sunday's 8-4 debacle last night by defeating the New Jersey Devils 7-4.

Toronto's Auston Matthews got a hat-trick in last night's game.

Matthews scored his first goal on the power play at 10:39 of the second period.

Matthews scored his second goal at 3:58 of the third period and finished off the hat-trick with an empty netter at 18:40.

John Tavares kicked things off with a goal at 5:18 of the first period.

Frederik Gauthier scored at 9:10.

Zach Hyman then scored a power play goal at 19:56.

William Nylander also scored for the Leafs.

New Jersey's Blake Coleman also had a hat-trick.

P.K. Subban was the other scorer for New Jersey.

Devil's Wil Butcher had two assists.

Tavares had three points.

Toronto's Mitch Marner and Rasmus Sandin had two assists.

Toronto hosts the Calgary Flames tomorrow night.
