Watching the preacher telling bereaved parents that God has a plan.
His note read,
"Tomorrow is just another "now"
that hasn't happened yet
a grey area
between the black and white
of my insubstantial existence.
It is simultaneously the moment of one ending,
and the point of a new beginning,
I merely leap into infinity."

God I feel godless tonight
another teenage suicide
his mother cries in pain
his father screams in vain
but there's no turning back
the hands of time
deafened ears
eyes teared blind
when hindsight aggravates the crime
of a family torn apart
shattered dreams
broken hearts
where those who forgot the golden rule
face the truth both stark and cruel.

I stand with nothing more to share
than condolences
empty air
formed by guilty lips
seeking to comfort
those drowning souls
helpless, hopeless
survivors lost
on sinking ships.

Swallowing my anger deep inside
as I watch the priest wade against the tide
seeking to net a catch of man
with baited teachings
cross in hand
preaching to the dispirited
that it's all His plan
I sicken at the sight
pretentious fool
I curse his ways
while grievers grieve
he prays and preys.
