A letter to me on how to improve my writing
Another year has passed and you did not meet or exceed your writing goals. I think you know why but you are ashamed to admit that it was your lack of planning, execution and a desire to succeed. Often, in your life, you have been afraid of success. Why?
Of course, there are many reasons and excuses but perhaps it is because you didn’t want your success to be an issue with your siblings. However, no matter the reasons and excuses, isn’t it, way past time, to get going on your writing?
So, let’s plan out a strategy so that this year can be the year where you succeed in your writing. The first step is to map out a plan. How about setting aside at least an hour a day on your writing? Now, what kind of writing do you want to map out?
I would like to finish up my second edition book. So, plan on taking an hour every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the morning from nine to 10. Another project is my memoire. Let’s schedule that for every other day, in the afternoon from 4 to 4:30 after my freelance writing work.
Another writing project would be my daily journals—my daily journal and my anxiety journal. These I need to continue to work on at the beginning and end of each day. Doing this will help me to see what I am doing and what I am not doing each day and also to keep track of anxiety and how I am handling it. I will write in my daily journals every evening between five and five-thirty.
Throughout all of this, I want to be alert to how the progress is coming along and to make note in my journals how I am doing and what is helping and hindering my progress—be it people, events and so on. So, keep in mind, all of this will take discipline and that is something you often lack. To help with discipline, ideas and so on, go first to the true source of help, motivation and guidance—God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Remember, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit wants you to succeed and do what is planned for your life. Giving and receiving motivation is a blessing that you often have received and given. Keep sending out motivation on Writing.com and to those who need and appreciate motivation.
So, make this year different! You can do it because God will never give you anything that will be overwhelming and because you now have a clear path on how to make it happen!
