About a mermaid that gives people a special choice...

There was once a mermaid named Melinda. She didn't do what normal mermaids do. She gives people a choice to choose to be lost at the ocean or to become a mermaid. She finds them whenever a ship sinks.

"I wonder if I'm going to find anyone today?" asked Melinda curiously.

"I don't know," said Sam the sea turtle.

"Well, help keep an eye out for me at least my friend," said Melinda.

"I'll do that for you my friend," said Sam while swimming around and around trying to find a sunken ship for Melinda.

After a short while, Sam became tired of searching. Melinda became tired of searching too. They took a break together and talked. Not long after they talked, there was a strange sound coming from their right in the ocean.

"What's that? It's another sunken ship!" said Sam swimming toward the area.

"Be careful Sam! Wow! Another sunken ship! This is great! I hope I can make some friends today!" said Melinda swimming by Sam.

"I'm sure you will," said Sam.

When Melinda went to the surface of the water, she saw all of the people there too from the sunken ship. She saw at least 300 of them! She has lots of work to do!

"Hello. I'm Melinda the mermaid. I see that your ship sunk. Would you like to stay out here like this or turn into a mermaid instead?" asked Melinda eagerly.

"What? First of all, I can't believe you're a mermaid and secondly, you can turn me into a mermaid? Ya right!" said the man with a baseball hat on.

"Yes I am, see my tail?" Melinda shows him her tail and the man faints. Another person over heard the conversation and comes over to help the man and talk to Melinda.

"Hello. I heard that you're a mermaid. That was Bob. He doesn't believe in anything! There we go, he's waking back up," said the man who had a baseball cap on too but his was blue and Bob's was green.

"Yes I am. My name's Melinda. What's your name?" asks Melinda.

"I'm Terry. Nice to meet you. So, you can turn me into a mermaid?" asks Terry curiously.

"Yes I can. Would you like to become one?" asks Melinda.

"Yes! Let me get my wife and son first," said Terry.

"Hey. What happened?" asks Bob.

"You fainted," said Melinda to Bob.

"Oh? Who are you?" asks Bob.

"I'm Melinda the mermaid. Yes, I'm real. I showed you my tail. Would you like to become a mermaid or remain out here like this at the ocean?" asks Melinda to Bob again.

"Hey! Terry! Come here! It's a mermaid!" shouts Bob.

"I'll be right there, I'm getting my son and wife," said Terry.

"Ok," said Bob.

"Yes, turn me into a mermaid. I don't want to die out here!" said Bob.

"Alright! Here we go!" said Melinda shaking her right hand toward Bob.

Bob quickly grows a merman's tail and becomes a merman! He can't believe his own eyes! He's really happy too.

"Wow! My own tail! I’m a merman! This is awesome! Thanks Melinda!" said Bob.

"You're welcome! I have lots of work left to do for the rest of these people, so please excuse me Bob," said Melinda.

"That's alright. You may go. Thanks again Melinda," said Bob.

"You're welcome! Enjoy your new life!" said Melinda.

"Well, we're ready!" said Terry to Melinda.

"Alright. Here you all go!" said Melinda waving her right hand and winking.

"Wow mom! I'm a merman!" said Terry’s son Ted.

"I'm a mermaid!" said Terry's wife Jill.

"I'm a merman too son!" said Terry.

The family thanks Melinda. All of the sudden, Melinda hears a lot of the people crying. She doesn't know what's wrong with them. She finds out that they're becoming too tired to keep swimming to stay a float.

"Excuse me everyone! May I have your attention please! I need all of you to relax and float on the water's surface. I'm Melinda the mermaid. Please come to me if you want me to turn you into a mermaid or a merman. I can do this for all of you if you want, or you can just stay here hoping that someone will find and rescue you," said Melinda seriously.

"Wow! A real mermaid! Yes, I'd like to be turned into a merman!" said a ten year old boy.

All of the people decided to be turned into a mermaid or merman. Melinda was very happy to do this today! Even though she was getting tired of doing this for 300 people, she did this for all of them anyway. She showed all of them their sunken ship and other sunken ships. Finally, she took all of them to meet all of the other people she turned into a mermaid or merman from other sunken ships and everyone lived happily ever after, including her who made even more friends.
