Writer's Cramp Entry February 3, 2020.
When I was a girl, I thought groundhogs
were hogs deep in the ground.
I don't think Phil was even born yet,
or he just didn't come around.

I set my steps most carefully
in hopes they wouldn't cave right in.
My worstest nightmares constantly
were hogs, stampedes, the end.

Then one day Mama gave me a rope
on the end was a playful young cow.
She was trying to calm my fear of hogs
though I could not figure out how.

The more I looked in that cows eyes,
the more it looked hard into mine.
Next thing I knew, it charged at me!
A bull broke that rope like twine!

The forecast called for rain that day
and THAT prediction came true!
The driving water soon dug holes
and I was sucked into a few!

Mama came outside and brushed me off,
my fears of hogs were stayed.
"Now come inside and have a snack
Stuffed groundhog, pie, and lemonade!"
