This is a brief contest story
“You can’t fool me!” I was frightened but I was also mad. Steve was always shading the truth from me and I was not about to let it happen again.

“What do you mean? I’m not fooling! I saw what I saw! Remember what I told you about Ben and James years ago? How quickly you forget!”

Now I was really angry. I am not a woman to be toyed with. I’ve been around a long time and Steve has been bugging me about this and that for years and besides all that, Ben and James were no strangers to pranks and other atrocities.

“Well, for me to believe what you are saying, you are going to have to show me!”

“O.K. I want you to walk with me down to Martha’s barn. Martha’s barn is only five minutes away. It is there near Martha’s barn that I will show you what I mean about Ben and James.

“Alright; but first I need to check inside the house and then lock up. I don’t want anyone coming in while we are gone.”
“O.K. But, come on. Time is a wastin….

I walked inside, checked to see all the lights were off and then I locked up. Steve was so careless at times.
“Alright. I’m ready.” I was tired of Steven’s innuendos. I grabbed my purse and off we went. In no time we got to Martha’s barn. We surveyed the area and saw no signs of life.

“Well, I don’t see anything. What am I supposed to see?”

“Wait! It is almost 10 o’clock.”

“See! I told you! Look!”

What I saw next I couldn’t believe. Before my eyes were Ben and James They had been transformed into large, cartoon caricatures. They smiled two grotesque smiles, waved and then ran.
