Dora's getting ready to go out to dinner.
Getting Ready

“What did I come in here for?” Dora asked herself.

“I’m pretty sure I’m looking for some essentials. How am I supposed to go out without them?”

She looked at the bedside table. Her phone was sitting there, so she picked it up.

“One thing found at least.”

She wandered into the kitchen and saw her purse on the table. With a sigh, she picked it up and checked for her wallet. As she was looking, she spotted her keys.

“Good, two more things checked off.”

“You can’t fool me!” she muttered to the room at large.

“I know you’ve hidden them somewhere!”

She went into the bathroom to put on some lipstick and perfume as she grabbed some tissues to put in her purse. Dora looked in the mirror. A complete blur was all she could see.

Remembering the final thing she’d need, made her huff in exasperation and go through all the rooms again. She threw up her hands in defeat, just as her phone rang.

“Mom, we’ve been sitting in the driveway for thirty minutes! The kids are ready to eat the upholstery! Are you coming?” said her daughter.

Dora nodded briskly as if her only child could see her on the phone. Something slid from top of her head neatly onto her nose. Her glasses, the very thing she’d been looking for.

“On my way honey!”

As she was on the way out the front door, her eyes fell on the hall mirror. Dora gasped and colored. Bustling back to her bedroom, she put on the dress she’d laid on the bed for the occasion. Seeing shoes on floor below, Dora slipped off her slippers and put them on.

“Better leave now or just forget about it!”

She laughed as she locked the door. {size}
