A (very) short article on my nomination for the 2019 Quill award.
| In the past year since I have been at Writing.com, it looks like I have done a great thing with my writing after all: this week I was nominated for a Quill Award for 2019 in the "Best Single Person Activity" category for my Christmas word search puzzle, "Twas the Word Search Before Christmas". In that puzzle, I invited readers to find words that have to do with that famous Christmas poem by Clement C. Moore.
Well, that word search has certainly gotten a lot of attention, I think, enough attention for the Writing.Com people to nominate me for a Quill award in the "Best Single Person Activity" category. Now, before I go on, I would like to confess: The reason I had created those word search puzzles is that's sometimes I get stuck trying to find ideas for stories, and I had figured that this would be the way for readers to keep them occupied well they are waiting for the next story published by yours truly.
As for the Quill Awards themselves, it is an annual event that Writing.Com holds to honor the best that this writing community has to offer in the past year. The categories are based on things that have to do with writing-related material such as word search, mad libs, poems, etc. If you would like to see my nomination for that "Best Single Person Activity" award, as well as all of the nominees for the 2019 Quill Awards, visit here: https://www.writing.com/main/view_item/item_id/2181623-2019-Quill-Nominations
I would very much like to thank the Writing.com staff for choosing me as one of the nominees for that award; I may not win anything this year in terms of an award such as the Quill Award, but what I would like to say is that I think I am already a winner: A winner with each and every audience who are always excited to find out what I am about to publish. I hope that I will continue to do the same this year, and beyond.
