The Lilies

The Easter lilies bloom again throughout the Christian world.
They greet us every Easter morning, lightly waxed and pearled.
Like unseen ghosts their fragrance permeates the Spring time air.
It reaches into every room, we smell them everywhere.
Their muted horns reminding us of why they bloom and flower:
In memory of Him who rescued us from Satan’s power.
The Son of Man, who took the nails and drank the bitter brew,
And died upon a cross that we might see His Father too.
O’ child of heaven, lamb of God, arisen Easter day,
How lucky are we that you came to Earth to show the way!
