Admiration for the work ethic of those driven to create
My Word Entry 2/8/20

** Image ID #2212357 Unavailable **

Meaty, calloused fingers curl around handle,
Worn wood and blackened steel,
Swinging, crashing eruption of sparks.

Sulfurous fumes of radiant heat fuel
Hot, violent slithering flames
The rough, licking tongue of creation.

Blue collared overalls smoke and sizzle,
Drops of crimson, molten metal splatter,
Taking scorching toll on threadbare fabric.

Wooden walls and tree stump forge
Present volatile elements near danger
Conflagration waiting in glowing wings.

This faithful man molds amber iron,
Quiet dedication to humble craft
Braving blaze, gambling on success.

Not for profit,
Not for glory,
For simple satisfaction
Of work well done.
