An acrostic tribute to our first President of the USA. [1789-1797]
Washington eventually became the Father of our country after
Assuming command of the Continental Army, who were
Selfless men fighting for freedom crossing the Delaware;
He fought the British mightily at Trenton and Princeton
Inflicting heavy losses.
Numerous militia battles raged along the countryside
Going on with no end in sight. The
Tide turned on the defeat of Cornwallis at Yorktown;
Officially ending the war for independence, while
Nurturing the cohesion of the 13 Colonies into a new nation.
