a poem about writing a poem
What shall I write about?
Shall I write of darkness or of doubt?
Should I write of happiness and joy
or should I write of being coy?

Shall I write of the state of the world?
the chaos all messily unfurled
laid out like a carpet of broken dreams
Does anyone know what it all really means?

Shall I write about the everyday things
or the odd moments that the world brings?
Should I write about things so plain
like a jumping frog in a puddle of rain?

I guess I will just write what comes to mind
and let a spool of thoughts unwind
As I bring words to gentle life
and let the verses soothe my strife
