She remembers... An entry in the Taboo Words Contest February 2020
A trinket of his, she clutches to her chest
Memories flow as she weeps without rest

His hair was threads of purest gold
His eyes were storms, deep and bold

His voice was thunder, yet melodic the same
Just to hear his words aloud, she came

Two years together flew by as a breeze
A ring sparkled, he was down on his knees

Yet he never made it to the church
For his body, days, they did search

Heartbroken, tears streak down her face
As she tucks his trinket back into its case
