A poem about wishing you could take a loved one's place in the afterlife.
Take Me and Leave Her

Just a glance,
Look my way,
Help me now,
Or let me hide away.

Don’t say it’s all alright,
Don’t say it’s fine,
It’s not and never will be,
Not again.

She’s gone,
But she’s not,
I see her all the time,
I just want to pet her one more time.

I’ll ask again,
Take me instead,
Let her live,
Let her be.
