Darkness is dispelled and light covers the land.
All’s well with me.

When my world crumbled
numbness spread through
body, mind and soul.
Darkness filled my being
muting the outside world.
Unaccountable deafness
a blessing, took on and I heard
not a single word of sympathy.

The sky overshadowed, a mass of grey
a sure sign of torrential downpour
unseasonal, unnatural with spring around.
Yet, even nature cannot break a cycle
meant to retain balance, rejuvenation.

At the daybreak, an orange-red sun
with a golden aura crept up the horizon.
Soon the sky rang with bird song
carried to my window on a windy flute.
And, I knew it is well with my soul.
Praise be to Him, my Heavenly Father!
