April Fool

“April fool!”

“Hello Miss Fool! My name is Cindy. Cindy Williams.”

“No, no. My name’s not April Fool.”

“Oh, I’m sorry, did I miss-hear you? April Drool?”

“No! My name is Judy. Never mind that, didn’t you see the puddle you just walked through?”

“Do you mean the blue cellophane on the sidewalk?”

“It was supposed to look like a puddle.”

“Oh. Did you know puddles are usually made of water?”

“I said it was supposed to look like a puddle. I thought you went around to keep your feet dry.”

“No, I went around it to keep from frightening the little ducks.”

“They were playing on top of it. I think they did think it was a puddle.”

“Let me see!” Judy ran to look. “Oh... they’re gone.”

“April fool!”

“I don’t think that was very funny,” Judy said, sadly.

“Lesson learned,” Cindy said, “April fool’s jokes are never funny.”
